On the 5th of August 2023, as a part of the Drug awareness drive, the department of criminology of school of social work, Roshni Nilaya organised a drug addiction awareness session lead by Mr. Guru, founder and managing trustee of BARC rehabilitation centre, Mangalore. Mr. Guru enlightened the 43 students of BA first year on drug abuse and the adverse effects of it. He spoke about the various methods used to rehabilitation addicts, prospective damage and the halt drugs result in, in a student’s life. He also spoke about the statistical situation of mangalore in terms of drug abuse and encouraged students to be a part of the Mangalore drug awareness drive. His anecdotes proved very helpful in raising awareness regarding the abusive effects of drug addiction.
