As an Extension Service Programme BSW Department, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru in association with Spandana Trust®, Jeppu organised a Four days Leadership Training Programme for High School Children at Spandana Trust®, Jeppu from 13th & 14th April 2023 and 21st & 22nd April 2023.

The programme was inaugurated by Sr. Helen Fernandes, Administrator, Spandana Trust®, Mrs. Veena B. K and Mrs. Anusuya Kamath, Assistant Professors, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya Mangaluru and Mr. Victor Vas, Coordinator, Spandana Trust® Mangaluru welcomed the gathering, and MC for the programme was Mrs. Reena D’Souza, Social Worker, Spandana Trust®.

The four days Leadership and Personality Development Training Programme included theme-based activities such as Problem-solving, Self-awareness, Team building, Decision making, Coping with stress and emotions, Time management, Goal setting, Critical thinking, Inspiration, Empathy, Interpersonal relationship, Authenticity & Delegation, Open-Mindedness & Creativity, Communication skills, Responsibility & Dependability, Gratitude and respect. Total 202 High School Students participated in this event. In this training, the trainers conducted different types of activities such as Motivational videos, Water Relay, Memory Games, Passing the bottle, Action Songs, Art And Crafts, Pick And Act, Chart Presentation, Games, Quiz, Role Play, Focus Group Discussion which helped the trainees to identify their strengths and work effectively with others and cooperate with different types of people and it also helped to develop their Leadership qualities and skills and helped them in preparing for a lifetime of success.

The Training programme was organised under the leadership of Mrs. Veena B. K and Mrs. Anusuya Kamath, Assistant Professors, BSW Department and the trainers of the leadership training programme were Ms. Anushka K J, Ms. Ashwitha, Ms. Bhakthi, Ms. Chandini K, Ms. Sinchana D Shetty, Ms. Steffy K M, Ms. Treesa, Ms. Zainab Shereen from final year BSW, Ms. Alvita Priya Lobo, Ms. Ancita Teresa Crasta, Ms. Nagashree D V, Ms. Neha Devadiga, Ms. T V Spandana from Second year BSW and from First year BSW Ms. Gowthami M, Ms. Spoorthi Govind Hegde, Ms. Vandana Shetty.
