The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a session for first year MSc CFS students on the topic Functions of Security and Vigilance' held on 14th September 2022 at 11.30am in the PG CFS department. Mr. Princeson Nihal Lobo, Security Officer, Carnival Cruise Lines, USA and an alumni of the department.

Mr. Princeson interacted with students pertaining to the field that he is working since Six years after the completion of his degree at Roshni Nilaya. He shared his work experience as Security officer at an International Airport, Bengaluru followed by a year of experience as Security executive at WIPRO, Bengaluru. He also expressed the procedure of getting into an International Security System at Cruise. He expressed about the number of goals that need to be set for future endeavors in the relevant area. Further, detailed information is given on the conceptual note on Security and Vigilance, opportunities in corporate sectors, functions and the nature work that need to perform by the officers with a power point presentation and practical demo videos.

Further, at 1.30pm he addressed second year students of the department about the new Job openings in Security and Vigilance sectors in both Private and Government. He spoke about the procedural controls required in maintaining security services and stated that observation and listening are two important qualities required in an investigator. He also explained that security is used for 4M’s i.e. men, material, machinery and money along with the job description of Vigilance officer and Security Officers. Lastly, he clarified the doubt of students related to job opportunities in the field and the procedure to approach for the same. Students expressed that the session was very informative and brain storming session.
