The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized an interaction session on ‘Future Prospective in Criminology’ for first year students and Second year students of Questioned Documents and Impression Evidences specialization on 7th June 2022 at 11.30 am.

Dr. Divyashree, Dean and Assistant Professor, School of Criminology and Crime Science, Rashtriya Raksha University, Lavad, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and also an alumni of the institution (2004-2007 UG Criminology Batch) was the resource person. She spoke about the concept, importance of Criminology, its advantages and limitations in the field, research opportunities and scope in various fields. She shared her experience being the Criminology students, research scholar and then currently in teaching and research. Students of Criminology in her University are sent to the field for research and internship where they get exposed to real life situation and participate in the criminal investigation she said.

 

 

 

 

Further, students interacted with her asking the future prospective in Criminology and its thrust areas. Child Protection, Policing and Security, Human Rights, Organized Crime and Terrorism, Victimology, Crime Mapping and Analytics, Women Safety are the research areas she spoke about and encouraged students in South India to conduct research in the relevant fields. Altogether, 36 students and 3 faculties were present during the interaction.
