In collaboration with the Mangalore City Police and the Departments of Criminology, Psychology, Economics and Sociology, Our Lady of Miracles, Milagres Church, Mangalore, organized a street play to raise awareness about drug abuse during the Anti-Drug Month project of the Mangalore Diocese. The event took place at the Milagres Church compound on Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Engaging the Community:

  • Saturday, September 23: On the first day, approximately 300 people, including parishioners and attendees of the Saturday mass celebration, were captivated by the student-led street play.
  • Sunday, September 24: The second day of the event saw an even larger turnout, with around 400 attendees, primarily consisting of children, who were deeply impacted by the powerful message conveyed through the street play.

Distinguished Guest of Honor:

  • ACP Mangalore Central Division, Mr. Mahesh Kumar, graced the occasion as the guest of honor and inaugurated the street play performance. He commended the initiative undertaken by the Milagres Church and the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, to combat drug abuse in Mangalore.

Appreciation and Acknowledgments:

  • Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, the Milagres Parish Priest, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the students and the college for their outstanding collaboration with the church.
