The BSW Department of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, organized a Webinar on PROGRAMS IMPLEMENTED BY WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, KARNATAKA. Webinar was held on Google meet from 2.30pm to 4.45pm. The Resource person for this Webinar was Mrs.Revathi K M, Rtd. Joint Director, Women and Child Development Department, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The Webinar began with a welcome address by Prof. Vineetha Rai, Head of the BSW Department and Registrar (Evaluation), School of Social Work,Roshni Nilaya. She welcomed the Resource person and introduced the resource person to the participants.

Resource person Mrs. Revathi shared the Vision and Mission of the Department. Later she explained about programs for Development of Women, Programs for Child Development, Social Security Programs. She stressed on Integrated Child Development Services – Objects, Scope, details of Anganwadi Centers, Scheme for Adolescent Girls, Ksheera Bhagya Scheme, Shrushti Scheme, Mathru poorna, Early Childhood Care and Education, National Crèche Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan, ICDS Training program, Swavalamban, Stri Shakthi Act for Protection of Women, Santhwana Center, Swadhar Grah, Girls Hostel, Working Women’s Hostel, International Women’s Day, Gender Budget, Transit Hostel, Women Helpline 181, Gender Sensitization Program, Shelter for Women affected by HIV/AIDS, Bhagyalakshmi Scheme, Exceptional Achievement Award for Children, Scheme for Prevention of Trafficking in Women and Children, Juvenile Home for Boys and Girls, Ujjwala , Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Reception Center, State Home and Destitute Cottages.

The session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Chandini I BSW. Prof. Vineetha Rai concluded the Webinar and thanked the resource person, Mrs. Revathi and the organizing team and also the Faculty of BSW Department.
