UG Department of Criminology, Social of Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru organised a Skill development program on Counselling skills for Second year Criminology Students on 11th October 2021. The total strength of the students who attended the session was 54. The resource person for this webinar was Ms. Esha Gowri, Counsellor Mangaluru. Ms. Esha started the session by explaining the meaning of counselling. She also told about counselling is a face to face relationship in which growth takes place between the counsellor and counselee. One of the skills she explained was about SOLER. S-Stands Squarely Face the Client-Open Posture, L-Lean on occasion, E-Eye contact, R-relaxed and Natural Behaviour. She also stressed on how the counsellor should capture verbal and non verbal information. The session was very informative and helpful for students. They got insight on counselling skills.
