On the day of the workshop at Jnana Deepa Institute of Philosophy and Theology, Pune, MSc Counselling students from the first and second years gathered on 05.01.2023 for various enlightening sessions.

Dr. Dinesh Braganza initiated the day at 9:00 AM, delving into the background and inspiration behind Wholeness work, tracing its roots to Ramana Maharishi. The session covered essential steps in the wholeness process, including locating sensations and 'I', understanding sensation quality, fostering awareness, and dissolving sensations. A live demonstration was conducted, allowing students to practice on each other. Dr. Braganza also elucidated the three directions of integration: authority process, basic process, and what's missing process. The morning session concluded at 12:30 PM.

 

 

 

The afternoon session, led by Dr. Konrad Narohna, commenced at 2:00 PM after a break. Dr. Narohna focused on cultivating psychological flexibility and nurturing communities through Acceptance and Mindfulness-based approaches. The session covered mindfulness-based meditation, incorporating practical exercises such as join-the-dots, values assessment, overcoming fear, and willingness and action plan worksheets. Students not only learned how to administer these tools on others but also engaged in self-application. The second session concluded at 5:30 PM, followed by an opportunity for students to explore Pune City.

In terms of learning outcomes, participants gained a profound understanding of the Wholeness process, its origins, and practical application. They acquired skills in locating sensations, fostering awareness, and dissolving sensations. Additionally, students grasped the significance of psychological flexibility and community nurturing through Acceptance and Mindfulness-based approaches. The practical use of various worksheets equipped them with tools for both personal and therapeutic application. Lastly, the session's interactive nature provided a valuable opportunity for students to practice and enhance their counseling skills in a real-world setting.
