The department of MSc Counselling Psychology of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore conducted an alumni engagement session on scope for counselling in clinical setup on 26th of August 2023 at 9.30 a.m. for the students of II MSc Counselling. The session was facilitated by Ms. Sreenidi, Head Counselling Psychologist, Department of Adult Psychopathology, VIMHANS, Vijayawada.
The facilitator was welcomed by Dr. Rosa Nimmy Mathew, HOD of MSc Counselling Department after which the facilitator took over the session. The facilitator began the session by asking the participants of their interest to begin work at a clinical setup in the future and then interacted with the students about the role of a counsellor in the clinical setup. The facilitator then gave information about working in a clinical setup, its scope and the trials she faced in her professional life when dealing with patients. The session was then open for the participants to clear any queries about the same.

The session was concluded by the facilitator emphasizing on the importance and scope of counsellors in the clinical setup and the need for people to enter into these fields as well. The session was interactive and very informative for all the students present.
