The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a session on ‘Procedure of Police and Magistrate Inquest’ for the first year students of MSc CFS on 10th September 2022 at 12.00 p.m. Mr. Lamees Nasim, Freelance Science Entrance Faculty (for medical entrance) Kerala Brilliant NEET Academy, Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu and an Alumnus of the department was the resource person.
Mr. Lamees discussed about the conceptual meaning of inquest, legal investigation of enquiry system on unnatural and suspicious death. He briefly explained about the types of inquest such as Magistrate inquest comes under section 176 of Code of Criminal Procedure, Police Inquest as per the section 174 of Code of Criminal Procedure, Medical examiner’s inquest and Coroner’s inquest.
It was an interactive session where the students actively participated and clarified their doubts in connection with the theme. The students expressed in their feedback that the session was informative and interactive. Altogether, 15 students were present during the session which is concluded at 1pm.
