The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a series of session on ‘Police Science and Administration’ for the first year MSc CFS students in the month of February 2022. Mr. Shiyon V K P, Guest faculty and an alumnus of our institution was the resource person.

During a week of sessions, he spoke about the historical development of police, its structure, functions of police stations, organizational set-up of police, the special forces in police and the Karnataka Police Act. There was discussion about the relevant cases and shared the experiences gained during a month of internship at the Department of District Police office, Mangaluru. The difficulties and challenges faced by the police personnel’s while maintaining the law and order in various situations. He spoke about the significance of Police-Public relationship and Community Policing in prevention of crime.
