The 75th Republic Day celebration at the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, orchestrated by the PG Department in association with IQAC, commenced at 8:05 with a soulful prayer song performed by the first-year MSc Counseling students. It set a reverent tone for the morning. The serene melody was a heartfelt expression of patriotism, delivered by the talented students.

The Principal Dr. Sophia N Fernandes warmly welcomed the Chief guest Ms. Philomena D’Sa, the provincial of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, India Province South. The event was officially inaugurated with the dignified hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest Ms. Philomena D’Sa, followed by honoring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a floral garland. This symbolic act was a collective display of respect for the nation, and it marked the beginning of a day filled with patriotic fervor.

Adding to the patriotic ambiance, Ms. Syeda Meherunisa, from MSc Counseling delivered a poignant speech on the significance of the day. Her words eloquently captured the essence of Republic Day, emphasizing the importance of unity, diversity, and the responsibilities of citizens. Ms. Philomena D’Sa in her inspiring message to the gathering emphasized the role of each person in contributing positively to the nation, fostering a sense of duty and responsibility. She urged the students to uphold the values of our Constitution by being a beacon of light wherever we are. Students from MSW and M.Sc. Counseling presented two stirring patriotic songs during the celebration. The melodies resonated with the spirit of unity and pride, evoking an emotional oneness with the Nation.

Ms. Elizabeth Deepika student of MSC Criminology and Forensic Science, serving as the Master of Ceremony, skillfully initiated the proceedings of the program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Lawrence from MSW. He expressed gratitude to the Principal, Chief guest, staff and students for their presence which made the event a very vibrant one. Indeed, the Republic Day celebration was a harmonious blend of spirituality and patriotism, leaving a renewed sense of pride and commitment to the nation.
