‘Graduation is not the end, it’s the beginning’ – Orrin Hatch
School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya Mangaluru organized its Eighteenth Graduation Day of the Short term (Diploma/PG Diploma) Special Courses on the 17th of June , 2023 in the Auditorium. The program began at 3:30pm with a prayer song by the students. The dignitaries of the day were Rev. Sr. Jacintha Saldanha, Provincial Superior of the Sisters of Saint Ann of Providence of Western India as the chief guest, Prof. Vineetha K, Registrar Evaluation and HoD of the Department of BSW as the guest of honour, Prof. Vida Sequeira, President of the Institute of Social Work, Mr. Elwis Lopez, meritorious Alumni of PGHRM and Sr. Lily Braggs meritorious Alumna of PGDC. Prof. Evelyn Benis the course director escorted the dignitaries to the dais. Prof. Vida Sequeira, President of the Institute of Social Work extended a cordial welcome to the gathering. Prof. Evelyn Benis the course director presented the annual report of the Short term and Special Courses. She also reminisced fond memories of the initial years when these Courses were introduced. This was followed by honoring the graduates. Rev. Sr. Jacintha Saldanha felicitated the PGDC batch and Prof. Vineetha K felicitated the PGHRM batch. The dignitaries also felicitated the top scorers and the best outgoing student of both the Courses. Ms. Akhila and Col. Holla Rajesh were the top scorers of PGHRM and PGDC respectively. Ms. Neha Naresh and Dr. Hilda won the best outgoing student trophy. The graduates then came forward to voice out their feelings about the course and their experiences. The faculty were also felicitated by the dignitaries. Ms. Jyothi faculty of PGDC and Adv. K. Nikesh Shetty expressed their views on behalf of the faculty. The chief guest Rev. Sr. Jacintha Saldanha addressed the gathering and stressed on the importance of learning and gaining knowledge. Prof. Evelyn Benis, the course director, expressed gratitude to everyone. Asst.Prof Roshini Goveas compared the event.The program concluded with the National Anthem.
