First BSW Students along with their HOD went on the Streets on Friday 25th August to create awareness on Drug abuse in association with Rescue Charitable Trust.

The Street Play with the theme” Say yes to life and Say no to Drugs” was performed in three places at Farangepet. At 1.30 pm, the first Street play was performed opposite to the Mosque in Farangepet where large number of local people had gathered. Thirty-three students of First BSW were involved in the Street play either performing some role as artists, singers, message givers, photographers, holding the placard or assisting in the smooth flow of the event.

Assoc. Prof. Vineetha addressed the audience in the beginning with the idea of attracting the audience to watch the Street play. Chairman of Rescue Charitable Trust, Mr Abdul Jabbar addressed on the occasion with a strong note on the ill effects of Drug abuse on the individual, family and society. Secretary of the Association and other members were present from Rescue Charitable Trust to assist and to make all arrangements needed. To conclude, the public gathered got an opportunity to clarify their doubts and Assoc. Prof. Vineetha clarified their doubts during the interaction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later Street play was performed at Thumbe Junior College. Principal, Teaching Staff and non-teaching staff along with students of Thumbe Junior College actively participated in the event. Principal, two of the Faculty of Thumbe Junior College gave away their message and motivated the crowd towards the theme- Say yes to Life, and Say no to Drugs.

Third round of Street Play was performed at the Farangepet junction Bus Stand. Rescue Charitable Trust Chairman gave away his message and other members of the Trust welcomed and thanked all the people gathered. Assoc. Prof. Vineetha initiated the event by attracting the audience towards the Street play. After the Street play, the interactive session helped to clarify the doubts. Thirty-three students of first BSW along with one teacher participated in the Awareness Programme and around four hundred and fifty public got the benefit from this Awareness Programme.
