Department of BSW, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, organized a Webinar for the students on the topic Human Trafficking on 13-05-2021 from 2:30 pm on the google meet platform. The resource person for this Webinar was Ms Sherlin Anthony, Senior Specialist- Program Intervention (south zone), Vihaan, Bengaluru.
The keynote address was given by Dr Jenis Mary, Vice Principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. The Presidential address was given by our Principal, Dr Juliet CJ.

The Webinar started with Prof. Vineetha K welcoming the dignitaries and the participants of the webinar. She introduced the resource person of the Webinar to the participants of the webinar. After the introduction resource person Ms Sherlin Anthony introduced the concept of Human Trafficking to the participants. She discussed how small children are used for things like forced labour, sexual slavery etc through human trafficking. She also shared about the impact of COVID 19 on child trafficking. Ms Sherlin Anthony gave the student participants an idea as to how they can make a difference in controlling human trafficking. The student participants were highly motivated by the experiences shared by the resource person. There were many queries from the participants to Ms Sherlin, which were clarified by her. The Webinar went on till 4:00 pm and vote of thanks was given by Ms Catherin Jennifer of III BSW. The webinar concluded with Prof Vineetha K proposing vote of thanks to the resource person and the Organizing Committee members. The participants also thanked the resource person for a wonderful session. The Webinar motivated the participants to take up challenges and realized the need for team work.
The organizing committee of the webinar was headed by Prof. Vineetha K, Head of the BSW Department and Registrar (Evaluation), School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. The student Representatives of the organizing committee were Mr Manoj Bhat of III BSW, Ms Catherin Jennifer III BSW, Ms Sidrah Ali Khan II BSW and Ms Pranavi CP of I BSW.
