An orientation programme for NSS volunteers was conducted on 18th June, 2013 by Prof. Vineetha K, NSS Coordinator, Mangalore University. She was also felicitated by Ms. Colin Maria D’Souza.
A workshop on self esteem was conducted by Prof. Joselyn T Lobo in the seminar hall of the College on 6th July 2013. A total of 120 volunteers participated in the workshop.
The Inaugural function of National Service Scheme 2013-14 was organized at Maria Paiva Couceiro hall, Roshni Nilaya Mangalore on Monday, 8th July 2013. The honorable guests were Sri B. Ramanath Rai (Hon. Minister for Forest and Ecology and Environment and District in charge for Dakshina Kannada), Sri J.R Lobo (Hon. MLA Mangalore) and Dr B.A Kumar Hedge (Indira Gandhi National award winning NSS officer, SDM College Ujire). There were 124 volunteers who took part. The inaugural programme started with Vanamahotsava. Sri B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Sri J.R lobo administered the oath to NSS volunteers and also inaugurated the wall magazine. The key note address was given by Dr B.A Kumar Hedge. Dr Sophia N. Fernandes, our Principal delivered the Presidential address. Dr Laxminarayan Bhat P, Registrar and Prof. Vineetha K, NSS Coordinator Mangalore University were the chief guests.
Participated in various programmes World Population Day programme on 10th July, 2013 malaria and dengue awareness programme on July 27th July, 2013 and performed a street play State level Laksha vruksha campaign on the 3rd of August, 2013 Rally conducted by Valencia Church on Clean Valencia, Green Valencia and also participated in a street play on September 15th 2013 Mangalore University level quiz and drawing competitions held on NSS day at Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangalore Awareness program and rally as a part of Nirmala Nagara Abhiyana and Shiskhana Jagrati Jatha was held at Ramakrishna College on 2nd October 2013
On 10th December, 2013, about 65 volunteers attended the program at Town Hall Mangalore on importance of Human Rights in the present scenario.
On 15th of December 2013, our volunteers participated in Shramadhan and awareness program on saving the Western Ghats. They also paid a visit to the annual camp site at Kanyadi.
NSS unit leaders Mr. Prakash and Ms. Aishwarya JS attended a one week University level camp from 9th to 15th of July 2013.
Nikhil Mascarenhas participated in a 2 day National level Orientation programme on decentralized governance held at Sri Perambadur, Tamil Nadu on the 24th and 25th of July, 2013.
Pradeep Kumar attended a Pre-RD selection camp from the 19th to 22nd of October 2013 at Mysore.

A variety entertainment competition was organized in the College auditorium on August 10 , 2013 for all the NSS volunteers.

Annual special camp of 2013 was held at Kanyadi, Dharmasthala from 16th November 2013 to 22nd November 2013.
