The students of criminology participated in the Property Parade on 25th November 2021 at Town Hall. Dr Rajendra K V, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada district was the chief guest for the program. Shri. N Shashi Kumar, Police commissioner Mangaluru City Shri.Hariram Shankar, Deputy Commissioner of police (Law & Order) and B P Dinesh Kumar Deputy Commissioner of police (Crime) were present in the programme. The program had an exhibition of stolen property and police equipment like gun, pistol, fire arms, police station setup, CCTV monitor, traffic signals, dog squad etc. The stolen property worth 2.9 crores of valuables which were stolen within the jurisdiction of the city police commissionerate which were found during the course of investigation was returned to the rightful owners after the permission of the court. Gold ornaments, vehicles, mobile phones, laptops and other items which were stolen or robbed within the jurisdictions of different police stations, were given back to their owners. The students had hands-on practical exposure to various exhibits that were displayed relating to investigation and criminology. The students of criminology apart from theoretical knowledge gained first-hand practical input and exposure to various aspects and subjects. “It was an enriching experience for both the staff and students in order to carve a niche for themselves.
