On December 13, 2023, the collaborative efforts of the Department of Criminology, AICUF, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, along with Jesus Youth, Roshni Nilaya led to the coordination of the "Joyful Tides" Spreading Joy in Mangaluru district prison. Actively participating in the event were fifteen students from the BA and BSW programs, with the presence of Mr. Obaleshappa, Superintendent Prison; Assistant Superintendent Sri Rajendran; Jailor Smt. Chennamma Bhidari; Mr. Denis Dsouza, Clinical Psychologist; Asst. Prof. Sarik Ankitha; Ms. Rancy; and Mr. Manoj. The event commenced with a peaceful prayer song, followed by a Christmas skit emphasizing the values of love and sharing. Ms. Sarik Ankitha emphasized the significance of sharing during Christmas, highlighting that it's not about money but about giving what we have to bring happiness to others. The program was further enriched with a dynamic action song and a Kannada song, concluding with inmates sharing a festive cake. One hundred inmates actively participated in the program.
