The PG Department of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, organized a two-day reflection program on the 15th and 16th of September 2023, postgraduate students of MSW, MSc Counselling and MSc Criminology and Forensic Science. The event took place at the Maria Pavia Hall and aimed to provide valuable insights and inspiration.

On the first day, September 15th, Ms. Shravya Naik of 1 MSW compered the session, which began with a prayer followed by a warm welcome speech by Ms. Sharanya Shetty of 2nd MSW. She introduced the distinguished resource person, Mr. Dawn Adithya Prakash, a renowned educator with over 12 years of teaching experience. Mr. Prakash, Mangalore's first certified Microsoft educator and recipient of the prestigious DR APJ Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement Award in teaching, was welcomed with a nurturing plant as a token of gratitude. His enlightening session, titled "Mindset Magic: Creating a Life You Love," emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, leadership skills, effective communication, and the resilience to never give up. The day featured engaging group activities, including treasure hunts, quizzes, and puzzle-solving, which enhanced participants' teamwork skills. Ms. Chandini from 1st MSW delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks to conclude the session.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon, the session on "Transforming Yourself to Transform India" commenced at 2 pm with Mr. Ranjan Bellarpady, Chief Coordinator of the Swach Manas Program at Ramakrishna Mission, as the resource person. Mr. Bellarpady, also the Director of Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd and a recipient of the Abhinava Shri Young Achiever Award, was introduced by Ms. Aishwarya Sathya, a student of 2nd MSc CFS. Assistant Professor Anuradha Shetty welcomed him with a plant symbolizing prosperity. Mr. Bellarpady emphasized the five important life gems: believing in oneself, managing time effectively, achieving financial freedom, practicing goodness, and cherishing one's parents. The session also featured insights from Mr. Gopinath, an ex-military officer and Ramakrishna Mission member, who shared his experiences in the armed forces. The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nashwa at 4:50 pm.

On the second day, September 16th, the reflection program continued with a session on "Unleash Your Inner Potential" led by Mr. Jaikishan Bhat, Adjuct Professor, Poorna Prajna College, Udupi. Mr. Bhat's enlightening presentation covered topics such as recognizing one's potential, finding purpose in life, maintaining a sound mind and a healthy body. The session empowered the audience to understand their self-worth, make the most of their time, spread happiness, and strive for personal growth. This informative and inspiring session concluded at 12:30 pm, and the program saw active participation from a total of 90 participants.
