The MSW Department (HRM Forum), School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized a dialogue on "Love Nature and Protect Nature" in Maria Paiva Hall on January 6, 2024, at 11 am. The resource person was Sri N. Santhosh Hegde, Former Solicitor General of India. The program commenced with a welcome note, and the Controller of the Examination, Associate Professor Ms. Vinita Rai, felicitated Sri Santhosh Hegde. A video presentation on the abuse of the Nethravati River was screened.

Sri N. Santhosh, in his talk, highlighted the beauty of the environment and emphasized the need to take action to preserve and sustain it for future generations. He reminded the enthusiastic audience about the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices, supporting conservation efforts, and being mindful of the impact of our actions on the natural world. The eminent resource person spoke systematically on human beings' greed in the name of development.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The renowned resource person concluded the session by stating that "Trupti" is the only remedy needed to reduce or stop greed. He emphasized that contentment is a major remedy to reduce greed. Justice Hegde mentioned that people are not born with humanity; they acquire humanity and become human beings. He spoke about different situations involving greed and humanity that he encountered in life. The resource person ended the session with a meaningful Kannada quote: "yenadaruagumodalumanavanagu," which means "Don't think alone you can't change the world but you can."

There were a number of queries from the students, including how youth can contribute a major role in the development of the country and why the court takes so much time to give judgments if the case appears in the Supreme Court. He answered every question patiently. The session ended with a vote of thanks, followed by a group photo session with the resource person, faculty, and P.G. department students. A total of 100 participants benefited from the session. The dialogue on "Love Nature and Protect Nature" has created a positive impact on the students.
