Holistic Well Being (Counselling) Forum Events

Man up , speak up was a forum activity conducted on 25th October, 2023 by Ist M.Sc Counselling students at Maria Pavia hall, School of Social Work.The event was performed under leadership of shuraifa, Rohit and Shaniba of 1st MSC counselling along with faculties of MSC Counseling.There were 150 participants from all 3 PG department.

This event reflected on the conflicts and stigma that men go through, leading to mental health disorders.

The event began with Ms.Jomol and Renisha leading the group in prayer followed by Scotyln Spilgreen welcoming the gathering .

The session continued further with Thanveera and Rohith debating on the need for awareness on Men's Mental health.

The struggles of men in freely expressing their emotion was portrayed through a drama.

The event had a ppt presentation highlighting the Statistics of Men's mental health issues globally and In India followed by the video scene of men's struggle.

Later a video created by students on various male students sharing their perspective of the stigma faced by men from childhood to adulthood was projected. The video also included their struggle of life and purpose of not showing feelings.

The event was concluded by writing and sharing the participants thoughts on combating stigma associated with Men's Mental Health. The event ended with feedback from viewers and the National anthem .
