A programme on the topic "Counselling in a hospital setup" was organized by the Department of MSc Counselling in association with IQAC, School of Social Work, Mangalore, for the students of the Second year M.Sc. Counselling. The resource person was Ms. Surya Mohan, Counseling Psychologist, and Psychotherapist at Indlas Hospitals, Vijayawada.

It was an interactive session where she shared her experience of working as a counsellor in a hospital. She addressed the importance of counselling in a healthcare setup, which provides emotional support, guidance for patients, provides families and patients with information about medical conditions and treatment options, post-traumatic care, and grief counselling.

The outcome of the session was that students got an idea of how different it is to work in a hospital setup than in any other counselling centers. They were enlightened with the importance of counselling in a hospital and the work associated with it.
