As a part of Academic Practical curriculum, twenty-three (23) second year students of Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had been to field practicum for a month (February2023) in their own specialization i.e., Questioned Documents and Impression Evidences (QDIE) & Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice (FPCJ). Students had an opportunity to get practical experience while working and assisting in the organization they were placed in. After successfully completing the internship students were awarded with certificates.

Sixteen students from QDIE Specialization were placed in various places like Kerala Police Academy, District and City Finger print units, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Andra Pradesh, Telangana, Single Digit Fingerprint Bureau, Chennai, Clues Team, Rachakonda, Clue4 Evidence Forensic Laboratory, Bengaluru, Secret Burau of Investigation and C-Branch, Kochi, Kerala.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seven students from FPCJ specialization were placed in District Child Protection Unit, Mangaluru, Thalaash Association, Bengaluru, Fr. Muller De-addiction Centre, Mangaluru, NIMHANS Bengaluru, Arivu Early Intervention Centre, Mangaluru, Steechethana, Kazhikkod, Kerala, Ishanya India Foundation, Bengaluru. Students had to maintain daily reports which was presented and discussed in the classroom and assessed accordingly.

Students expressed that the learning outcome during the internship was very useful and helped them to learn the concepts taught in the classroom. Each case and situation were different which made them to act as per the needs to handle it. They also stated that the internship helped them to build the confidence to handle the cases independently which is very useful to their job prospects. Altogether, 23 students completed their internship successfully and awarded with certificates.
