C.D. - Forum for Sustainable Development Events

The virtual inauguration of Community Development Forum (CD) was organized on 05th December, 2020 for the academic year 2020 -21. All the first year and second year Community Development Students attended the virtual inauguration of CD Forum, “The Forum for Sustainable Development.”

The programme started at 1:00 pm with a prayer song by the second year CD students. Then all the Faculty members and student participants, especially first year CD students were welcomed to the forum by the senior members of the forum. Thereafter, Dr Juliet CJ, the Principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya spoke on the need of the skill, knowledge, values that a community social worker needs to have in order to work efficiently and effectively in the community and with the community. Then, the organizing committee, showed the photos of the different activities to the participants carried out by the senior CD students. Ms. Evelyn Benis, Assistant Professor, appreciated the forum for its active participation in various activities in the college and outside the college. She encouraged the forum members to rise to the occasion and grab the opportunity to do something different, unique and concrete for the society.

Mr Ch. Odessey Singh , the Coordinator of the forum, explained the members about the newly framed bye-laws of the forum, its objectives, election procedure etc. and requested the members to read it carefully. He then facilitated the election of new office bearers for the post of Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Convenor, Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer. From the second year Mr. Birendra Tete was elected as the Convenor, Mr. Sugana Gouda as the Secretary and Ms. Anjali Thomas as the Treasurer and from the first year Mr. Kurian was elected as Assistant Convenor, Ms. Priya as Assistant Secretary and Mr. Anush. J. as Assistant Treasurer.

Mr. Vikram M.M (1st Year) was appointed as the Media Coordinator by Mr Ch. Odessey Singh, the Coordinator of the forum according to the provisions of the Bye law. “Environmental Protection and Promotion” was selected a the theme of academic year 2020 – 21 which will be the focal area for the activities to be planned and executed in the mentioned academic year. An E - copy of the Bye Laws were circulated to all the members to be singned before the planning meeting.
