The students of II MSW – PM & IR, along with the faculty members, Dr. Sebastin K.V. and Asst. Prof. Asha Lobo, visited Canara Springs, The Canara Workshop Ltd., Maroli, Mangaluru. Mr. J Abdul Saleem, Deputy General Manager, HR Administration, welcomed the group and briefed them about the Human Resource and Industrial Relations at Canara Springs, while explaining about the flow of work in the departments of Sales, Planning, Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance.  

Mr Abdul spoke about the importance of being well-versed with labour laws and acts in order to become a successful IR professional. He also stressed on the significance and the benefits of establishing a bond of faith and respect by building a good rapport with the persons employed.

 

 

 

The HR trainees visited the plant where the site engineers explained about the Rolling Pin, Spring Leaf Processing, Shearing, Eye Rolling, Taper Rolling, Trimming and Hand Rolling, Diamond Trimming, Buttoning, Drilling, Rectification, Bushing, Reaming, Grinding and finally, Assembly.

Thereafter, the DGM interacted with the students and concluded, saying, most of the IR related issues within an organization can be sorted if one increases his interaction with humans, over machines and technology. The trainees enjoyed this enriching event.
