NSS (National Service Scheme) - Events

An orientation program was conducted for the NSS volunteers on Saturday, 19th of August, 2023 in the Seminar Hall. The program began at 1:30pm. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S. Asst. Prof. of Commerce and NSS Program Officer at Canara College Mangaluru, was the resource person. The program began with a prayer song by the NSS volunteers. Ms. Kushi Valke (II BA) welcomed the gathering. As part of the Sadbhavana Diwas, Assistant NSS Program Officer Ms. Roshini Monica Goveas led the Sadbhavana pledge taking program.

Mrs. Seema Prabhu S. began her session by giving an insight to all the volunteers about the history and significance of NSS. She also explained about the benefits of being a NSS volunteer. The volunteers were then divided into groups and three activities based on communication, empathy and team work were conducted. The students got themselves involved and thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Ms. Enora Gomes (II BA) proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Vishitha VK (II BA) compered the program. A total of 72 NSS volunteers participated in this orientation. NSS leaders Ms. Navya K (II BA) and Mr. Sanketh Nayak (II BSW) were also present on stage. NSS Program Officer Mr. Obanath contributed to the success of this program with his guidance and motivation. The program concluded at 4pm with the National Anthem.
