On 15th December 2023, the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya had the privilege of hosting a visit from the Department of Social Work, H D Deve Gowda First Grade College, Hassan. The visiting group comprised 50 MSW students and esteemed faculty members, including Mr. Riaz Ahmed M I, Mr. Deepu H N, Mr. Ananth Kumar C S, and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.
The purpose of the visit was to provide an orientation about the School of Social Work in general and the MSW program in particular. The students exhibited great enthusiasm and actively participated in the session, posing insightful questions on various aspects such as specializations, field work opportunities, teaching methodologies, library resources, and grooming for social work students.

The visiting group was given a comprehensive tour of the campus, with a special focus on the Library and Family Service Agency. Dr. Meena Monteiro, Dean of Research, and Dr. Sebastian K V, Dean of Academics, conducted the orientation program, providing valuable insights and information to the visiting students and faculty members. Additionally, the Principal of the college, Dr. Sophia N Fernandes, took the time to interact with the group, further enriching the visit.
The engagement and interaction during the visit were highly productive, fostering a meaningful exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two institutions. The School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, is grateful for the opportunity to host such an inquisitive and engaged group from H D Deve Gowda First Grade College. We hope that this visit has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration and mutual learning between our institutions.
