The valedictory Ceremony of the National Conference Scintilla 2024- ‘Sustainable Wellbeing – Catalyst towards collective living, organized by the department of MSc Counselling was held at School of Social Work, Mangaluru at 3.15pm on March 2nd, 2024. Dr Premanand V, Associate Professor, St Agnes Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research was the Chief Guest.

Dr Premanand rendered an insightful message on the significance of “being “and how sustaining the wellbeing an important task before us. He conscientized, the audience on spreading wellness across population. Dr Premanand further emphasized on people coming together and creating a platform for peace. He further congratulated the organizing team for picking up the relevant theme for the conference and engaging diverse student community last 2 days of the event.

Prof Eveleen Benis, Head PG department of Social Work, Preside the Valedictory Ceremony. In her Presidential address she highlighted on how School of Social work evolved with its sustainable principles last 60 years. She emphasized on celebrating and practicing wellbeing in dailylife and appreciated the participants for being at School of Social Work, learning and contributing last two days.

Earlier, Dr Musthafa Basthikodi, Head, Department of Computer Science, Sahyadhri College of Engineering in a session on Digitalization and innovation towards Sustainability, enlightened on the revolution in the technological domain. He further emphasized on how the world has adapted technologically and need for human beings to align and sustain. He also shared briefly on the topic of circular economy practice through recycling, upcycling and waste reduction. Dr Vasudha T, Head wellness and Sustainability, in a session on Harmonious Coexistence – Inspired by Brandix India Presented a practical model of reaching the goal of sustainability in multiple dimensions like health, environment, social etc. She shared the how business organisation accountable for sustaining people, product and planet.

In another session by Prof Teddy Andrews J, Coordinator, Professor MSW Programme, Prasanna School of Public Health, MAHE, Manipal, on Creating a resilience community , he invited the participants in creating a resilient individual by enhancing coping skills, strengthening family bonding and looking beyond self and evolving as a community. He invited the young learners to create and implement sustainable practices that contribute to the long-term resilience of the community.

Dr Sandra lobo, NAAC Coordinator, Dr Rosa N Mathew, HOD M.Sc Counselling, Dr Wilsy Francis – Organising Secretary, Scintilla 2024, Ms Delilah Goveas , General secretary, PG Student Council and Ms, Thani Anwar were other dignitaries present. 128 participants from 28 educational institutions across India witnessed the valedictory ceremony.
