Faculty Development Programme on ‘Strategic Planning’ for teaching staff

Internal Quality Assurance Cell, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Strategic Planning” for both UG and PG teaching staff on 27th & 28th January 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Maria Paiva hall.

On 27th January 2021, the programme started with a prayer song led by Ms. Jinsa Joseph. Dr. Juliet CJ gave an outline of what the programme would entail. Through a power point presentation, Dr. Jenis Mary helped the participants to rethink about the College Vision and Mission. She highlighted the difference between ‘Strategic Plan’ and ‘Perspective Plan’. Upon a collation of 60 suggestions offered from all Regulatory bodies, Dr Jenis gave details about the features of good governance with focus on 8 thrust areas –

  1. Revisiting of college vision, mission, motto and values
  2. Academic Excellence
  3. Strategies for staff welfare
  4. Strategies for student welfare
  5. Extension activities
  6. Research and publication
  7. Strategies for resource management

Thereafter, the faculty were put into groups and asked to come up with suggestions and concrete strategies for the same.

 

 

 

 

On 28th January 2021, the programme began with a prayer song led by Ms. Shobha. The establishment of Centres to promote participative academic/extension services/administrative procedural management in the institution were spelt out by Dr Jenis. The Centres are - Centre for Professional Excellence (CPE), Centre for Human Transformation (CHT), Women’s Studies and Legal Aid Clinic, Centre for Information & Technology (CIT), Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN), Centre for Research and Publications, Centre for Social Action, Centre for Sustainable Development & Centre for Rural Engagement. Coordinators of various Centres - Dr. Sebastin KV, Ms. Rosa N. Mathew, Dr Meena Monteiro, Ms. Anusuya Shenoy & Mr Obanath P., Ms. Shobha and Dr Kiran Prasad discussed about what the Centres would work at. Thereafter, there was a discussion on the functioning of existing Fora and Cells. Dr. Jenis presented a time stretch from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on all days related to extracurricular activities, Sports, Skills training programmes like SPSS, soft skills, FDP, Value added courses, IQAC documentation etc.
