A Psycho-Education programme on the topic ‘Teacher- A Catalyst for Change’ was conducted by 4 students of II M.Sc. Counselling for 20 members of Honeycomb Montessori trainee teachers, Mullakad, Mangalore on 13th March 2021.
The aim of the programme was to bring about a change within the members, how they can influence preschool children towards being positive. Eclectic approach was used to educate the members about how to develop cordial relationship and healthy communication between teachers and children, and parents of children, effective skills in dealing with children, to improve healthy communication and acceptance of perception between teacher and children, to balance between personal and professional life and to help the members about group cohesion. Preliminary assessment was administered to assess how trainee teachers can influence the children.

The session helped the group to understand how they can influence children and how to deal with the children effectively and how they can bring a change in children’s life. It also facilitated the members to understand how they can be agents of change and be a role model for the children in school. On the whole the facilitators met their objectives of educating, cultivating teaching skill among the Montessori training teachers.
