The BSW Department of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru organized a Webinar on “MY JOURNEY IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL WORK WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CAPACITY BULIDING PROCESS"on 27th May 2021. The Webinar was held on Google meet from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The resource person of this Webinar was Sri.Udaya Kumar Rao Bekal, Member, Azim Premji Foundation,Ballari.
The Webinar began with a welcome address by Prof. Vineetha Rai, Head of the BSW Department and Registrar (Evaluation), School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. She welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the Resource Person to the participants of the Webinar. Dr. Jenis Mary, Vice Principal of the college gave the Keynote address and the Presidential address was given by the Principal Dr. Juliet C.J.

Sri. Udaya Kumar Rao Bekal with 37 years of experience in the field of Social Work beautifully explained about the joy in working for the social cause.
He shared his experiences while working with Tribal people in Coorg. He recollected organising Leadership Camps for Youth, Literacy Campaign, establishing Tribal Organizations etc.
He stressed the need for problem sharing, improving communication skills and intervention in the areas of Child rights, Health, Education, Livelihood, Governance, Environment and specially Capacity building. He advised the students to consciously reflect on learning, try to overcome one’s limitations and to practice the Constitutional Values.
The session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Sharanya Shetty of II BSW. Prof. Vineetha Rai Concluded the Webinar by thanking the resource person Sri.Udaya Kumar Rao Bekal,the organizing committee and faculty of BSW Department.
The student representatives of the organizing committee were Dayana D Souza III BSW, Vishnu. S II BSW, Sidrah Ali Khan II BSW, Sharanya Shetty II BSW and Anushka I BSW, under the guidance of Prof. Vineetha K Head of the BSW Department.
