Nehru Yuva Kendra Mangaluru organised a  three - day Training Worshoo on Youth Leadership and Community Development Programme at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium, Sahodaya, Balmatta, Mangaluru from 7 th March to 9 th March 2020.

Eight BSW students- Mr. Abhishek Naik, II BSW, Mr. Sreejith T N, Ms. Elsa C Varghese, Ms. Namana, Mr. Manuel Sugesh, Ms. Sowparnika S P, Mr. Vishnu and Ms. Shwetha M from I BSW of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya  participated in the camp.

The first session was by Mr. Nandagopal on leadership in which he focussed on Confidence and Efficiency at the Workplace.

Then the students attended a session on Spreading awareness through Art, a session conducted by Mr. Mukund Raj.

The inaugural function was with the inspiring speeches delivered by the Guest speaker MLA Mr. Vedavyas Kamath and after the inauguration, the students had another session by Mr. Nandkishor who taught the students on the ability and necessity to be able to adjust to changes in life and also to be a positive change in society. The class was held in the gurukul style filled with activities and games.

After a tea break the students were divided into groups and assigned different duties.

A Cultural programme was organised and it was followed by a session on Self- evaluation.

At 6:30 AM the students had to attend a  yoga session, followed by a  session by Sir J.K Bhat. The session addressed issues such as how to be successful.WOMENS DAY was celebrated and the Chief Guest for this session was Dr.Vishala.
 
The next session was on  Internet Usage For Growth by DR. Vishala which was quiet informative. After lunch the students attended a session on Stress Management by Mr. Alwind Siva which was filled with humor and his way of providing his ideas to the students was uniquely excellent.

The next session was by Mr. Shivakumar Magadha and the session was about facing negative thoughts and being successful in life. After the session the student of SSW, Roshni Nilaya, Manuel Sugesh, were asked to coordinate and conduct the cultural programme.

 After dinner the students were called for a small communication based activity by Mr. Preethesh and then it was the last night of the 3 day camp, SHIBARA JYOTHI was conducted and then with few official talks the session winded up.

 Mr. Santosh and Mr. Nithin  took up a session on Disaster Management and first aid along with practical session on fire safety with an inspiring message of "Change your Attitude Towards Problems".

A workshop  on Communication Skills was conducted by Mr. Sudhir who also entertained the students with his mimicry and acting. A feedback on the 3 days camp was given by the delegates.

The students felt a positive change and returned from the camp, filled with new energy and enthusiasm to build a strong community and serve the society as leaders.
