Eleven students from the Department of Rural Development presented their research papers during the National Conference on ‘Emerging Horizons in Skill Development’ organized by Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University, Mangaluru on April 30, 2022.

The conference started at 9.30 am with an inaugural programme followed by the sessions and the presentations which started at 1.30 pm. Sannidhi Nayak presented on ‘Opinion of Youth on Sustainable Fashion’, Suman S Attavar on ‘Public Perspective on Status of General Health, Drinking Water and Waste Management in Ullal City’, Akshaya T.S and Melisha Dsouza presented on ‘Study of Social Interaction of Children’, Yashik. V Shetty on ‘A Study on the Effects of Video Games on Youth’, Varsha Bhat on ‘A Study on Awareness of Various Handicrafts among the Youth’, Mahesh. V Jaiji on ‘Social Media and its Impact on Undergraduate Students’, Anthony Paul on ‘Ornamental Fish Keeping: A Boon or Bane to Environmental Sustainability’, Mahalaxmi V. Bhat on ‘Influence of Social Media on Youth Startups’, I. Anjali Prabhu on ‘A Study on the Awareness of Handloom Sarees of South India Among the Female Population’ and Aisha Rahat presented on the topic ‘Public Perspective on Waste Management During Pandemic in Mangalore City’.

All the papers have been co-authored and guided by Ms. Anuradha Shetty, Head of the Department of Rural Development. All the participants were given 10 minutes to present their topics. Students received good reviews and feedback from the moderators and organizers.
