As part of extension activity, 18 students of Rural Development engaged with Ullal City Corporation on Sunday, 31st October 2021. As a first activity, the students joined hands with local people and organizations, as well as U. T. Khader, MLA, Dr. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University and Mr. Rayappa, Commissioner Ullal CMC to clean the beach on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, which was celebrated by doing social services and cleaning public places throughout the month of October on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next activity was the Survey on Health Status of people in Abbakka Nagar Bhag ward of Ullal. The students were divided into smaller groups of two, each accompanied by a local community member who guided them to the houses. The students went door to door to conduct health surveys and raise awareness about COVID-19, Dengue, Malaria and other general problems/prevention measures, drinking water and waste management. Pamphlets were distributed to the families they met and a gunny bag to collect trash on their way to meet the residents. During the survey, along with the local community members, green buckets sponsored by the Ullal CMC were distributed.
