"The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention" Oscar Wilde and in accordance with this good cause, Mangalore University and the NSS Unit of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru in association with Shree Shaa Souharda Credit Co-operative Ltd. celebrated NSS Day on 26th September 2022, at College Auditorium.

The programme began with prayer led by NSS volunteers.Mr. Obanath, NSS Programme Officer welcomed the gathering. Prof Subramanya Yadapadithaya, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University inaugurated the programme by watering the sapling along with other dignitaries Mr. Gururaj, President of Shree Shaa Sauharda Credit Cooperative Ltd., Dr.Manohara Upadhayaya, Veterinary Doctor, Dr.Nagaratna, NSS Coordinator, Mangalore University, Dr.Juliet C.J, Principle of the college, Prof. Vineetha.K, Registrar Evaluation, Prof. Eveleen Benis, Secretary, Institute of Social Service and Asst. Prof.Veena B. K, Assistant NSS Programme Officeron the dais.

Dr. Nagaratna, NSS Coordinator, Mangalore University gave an introductory speech.Mr.Gururaj, President of Shree Shaa Sauharda Credit Cooperative Ltd.,said about the functions of Shree Shaa Sauharda Credit Cooperative ltd.and their service towards conservation to environment through an initiative of planting fruit saplings being undertaken for the well-being of the Society. Dr.Manohara Upadhayaya, Veterinary Doctor spoke about the material and spiritual life which is connected to the environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At this event the NSS unit appreciated Ms. Souparnika and Ms. Priskilla Thomas for their participation at the National Integration camp held at Dharward for winning individual prizes in the competitions and also bagging the overall Championship were honored by Prof. Subramanya Yadapadithaya and with his presence NSS volunteers took pledge. He also spoke about service with learning skills that shapes the personality, and about life with good character, education, compassion, love in the work you do and his words motivated the NSS volunteers to do the service with Zeal. Then as the guests received the fruit saplings NSS volunteers sang the NSS song.

The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Saifana, NSS volunteer, and MC was done by Ms. Ifra Ayesha, NSS volunteer. The programme ended by planting fruit saplings in the Reflection Park by the Dignitaries.Sweets were distributed among the volunteers. The NSS Day celebration was a grand success by contributing to society and nature.
