Crimino-Vision Events

The UG Department of Criminology organised a session on the topic 'Ink Analysis' from 9:45am to 10:30am on 25th June, 2022 via Google Meet for II year BA students. A total of 45 students participated in the virtual session.

The guest lecturer for the session was Ms. Athira who is the former student of M.Sc Criminology and Forensic Science from School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore with a specialisation in Question Documents.

She began the session by giving an introduction to ink analysis and telling about the different types of inks and how the consistencies of each ink differs from one another. After giving a few examples about the importance of ink analysis, Ms. Athira told the different ways to examine ink. She spoke about spectroscopy and chromatography techniques used in examination of Ink.

Ms. Athira also showed the pictures of different instruments used to analyse ink and how they work. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks.
