1. Workshop on "Addressing Child Mental Health Issues” on 16th September, 2017 by Dr. Kavitha V. Jangam, Assistant Professor, Psychiatry Social Work NIMHANS Bengaluru. She dealt with causes and impact of psycho social problems of Child Mental Health. Some of the Intervention in Child Mental Health was also discussed by her. At the end Dr. Kavitha answered the questions posed by the students.
2. One day workshop on 17th September 2017 on "Responding to child sexual abuse : Role of Professional Social Workers” by Dr. Kavitha V. Jangam, Assistant professor of Psychiatric Social Work. She discussed Myths and impact on CSA on children. She also helped the participants to understand the POCSO ACT and its implications. The theoretical aspects were demonstrated with practical sessions. This workshop was attended by Practicing Counsellors. Student social workers from Roshni Nilaya and other colleges. Human Rights Education students and Law students. At the end she answered the questions posed by the students.
3. Medical and Psychiatric students commemorate World Alzheimer's Day, an awareness programme to UG students at School of Social Work, on 20th September 2017 at 9:30 a.m. After a brief introduction on World Alzheimer's Day, students of 2nd MPSW enacted a skit on Alzheimer's. Followed by power point presentation which explained the meaning of Alzheimer's Disorder, causes, warning signs, risk factors, prevention, treatment and care giving advice to family members. It ended with an Appeal to the students to recognise this disorder in the elderly n give them a helping hand.
4. Students of Roshni Nilaya performed a skit at the Inauguration of Suicide Lifeline at Forum Mall on the 1st October 2017 at 5 p.m.
