6 students of II M.Sc. Counselling students conducted Psycho-Education programme on the topic ‘Emotional Regulation’ for 60 I year Nursing Students of City College of Nursing, Shakti Nagar, on 9th and 10th February 2021.

The aim of the Programme was to help the members to regulate the negative emotions and to cultivate positive emotions. Positive psychology approach was to used to educate the members about different aspects of emotions, to enhance emotional awareness as well to deal with negative emotions and cultivate positive emotion. Preliminary assessment was administered to assess the level of emotional regulation among the students.

 

 

 

 

The session has helped the group to retrospect on their feelings and emotions while dealing with their everyday shortcomings in life. It has also facilitated the group to cope with negative emotions and to talk about their feelings rather than suppressing it.

Some members came to a understanding that by being aware about one’s own emotions it can also help solving problems and in effective decision making. On the whole the facilitators met their objectives in creating awareness and in teaching skills to deal with negative emotions and to regulate emotions efficiently.
