Field exposure visit to Janajagrun and HOPE Recovery Centre, Belagavi.

 

The scholars of CD along with the faculty had the field exposure to Janajagrun and HOPE Recovery Centre on 23rd and 24th of February 2017. The objectives of the visit are as follows:

1)  To learn how the organisation empowered the Kuruba community and how they gained over all development and appreciation; Theoretical session and some interaction with the beneficiaries and  field visit in order to know about the sheep breeding process and how it has helped the community.

2) Exposure to NGO's Biogas cum rural Sanitation programme

3) To have a practical knowledge about the management of the water shed project. 

The scholars had the opportunity to know how the backward Kuruba communities are organised and how the organisation supports them all through to become organised as well as obtain their rights. The scholars also got the experience and interacted with the MGNREGA workers and how they fight for their rights and the impact of the act in their lives. Some of the other major programmes the scholars got to know were organic farming and kitchen garden, biogas and rural sanitation and watershed. The scholars also visited the HOPE Recovery Centre and interacted with the inmates who are getting ready to be back in the community and contribute towards the society. It was a wonderful and enriching experience visiting the two agencies.
