The Second and Final year students of Sociology-Economics forum along with faculty visited “The Shree Manthi Bai Memorial Government Museum and Heritage Department”, Bejai, Mangalore, on 13th July 2018 at 2:30 PM.
Shree Manthi Bai Museum alias Bejai museum houses a variety of antiquities established in 1960.

 

The museum exhibits wooden carvings of dieties such as Bhairava and Hanuman and Stone Sculpture, Neolithic Stone age tools, palm leaf manuscripts, Copper plate, Coins, Metallic Icons, Metal object, Weapons, Ethnology, Cannon, Bullet, Kahale, Musical instrument, Decorative panel, Gandhiji’s photo gallery, and letters, and  books. Gardens were surrounded by archeological sculptures.

 

 

The museum visit was an exposure towards secondary data that could be used for research purpose.
