Nov 6, 2018 : Mr Vidyaranya Kollipal, is a HR professional with 16 years plus experience with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He broadly illuminated the students on the work environment in Mphasis, an IT service Company, where he currently works as a HR Head of the department. Mr Kollipal spoke about various challenges the HR department faced because of a series of acquisitions occurred within the company. Presently Mphasis is acquired by a new parent company named, Blackstone.
He stressed on the importance of reading and analysing newspapers. He wanted the students to have a passion to seek for more knowledge and be in sync with the present happenings. He proclaimed, an HR Professional must be geared with knowledge, for knowledge is merely a tool used on being proactive in service in a society.

He said that continuous learning is the Best practice in HR Department, that is, as he says, “Make sure employees practice the organisational culture, if they don’t comply, show them the door”. Mr Kollipal stated, the culture of Mphasis included three things, Transparency, Automation, and Employee Engagement. To keep the workforce happy and productive, there must be good employee engagement in the organization as a HR initiative. But it takes lot more than keeping the workforce happy and having fun. It is also about getting employees to believe in and staying committed in an organisation. We can achieve this by being honest with them, answering their queries, letting them know what is happening and what the reasons behind the set objectives are; to put in simple words, being transparent.
Later he directed us by saying HR need to know the business, to support this he advised us to speak business, and to give real time examples. He asked us to closely examine real case studies and asked us to keep a shortlist of few companies and scrutinize the way it works.
